Two of our greatest skills are asking for help… and being a helper.
Animals are born with their most crucial survival instincts available to them. Antelope hit the ground running, snakes hatch ready to bite, and baby turtles dig their way out of the sand to find the ocean, all by themselves.
So what are humans born with?
The ability to ask for help.
In fact, we cry for it. Sometimes we scream at the top of our new little lungs demanding it. The thing we know how to do as soon as we are born – our most essential survival instinct – is to ask for help.
And help is almost always there!
Do you know why? Because when we grow up, we become the helpers. It goes back to that saying I absolutely love… in times of tragedy, look for the helpers, because they will always be there!
Both of these skills are so incredibly important. Do not lose any of them.
Ask for help if you need it. And be a helper if you can.
