I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, the space around me feeling safe and quiet. As I was guided inward, I saw the little version of myself standing there, unsure but waiting.
She carried the weight of emotions she never got to express, the fears she never had the words for. I reached out to her with love and to listen.
The moment I told her, “I see you, and you’re safe with me now, you’re loved and you’re enough” something softened.
It was intense, and gentle as well. A calm sense of release washed through me, as if the child within finally trusted that she didn’t have to carry it alone anymore. We both needed it.
