Hollywood remembers!

💔 Elizabeth Berkley Pays Tribute to Diane Keaton: “She Was My Hero — and She Showed Me What True Leadership Looks Like”

Hollywood continues to mourn the loss of one of its greatest icons — Diane Keaton, who passed away on October 11 at the age of 79. Among those remembering her with love and admiration is actress Elizabeth Berkley, who worked alongside Keaton in the 1996 classic The First Wives Club.

Berkley, who played the young and ambitious Phoebe LaVelle in the hit comedy, reflected on her time filming with Keaton — calling it “a profound experience” that helped shape her both personally and professionally.

“To be embraced by these three most extraordinary women — Diane, Goldie [Hawn], and Bette [Midler] — was an honor. They were everything I hoped they would be, and more,” Berkley told PEOPLE exclusively.

She recalled how Keaton, in particular, taught her not through lectures or advice, but simply by example.

“There wasn’t one specific thing Diane showed me. It was her presence — how she led with grace, humor, and generosity. That’s what true leadership looks like.”

Berkley described Keaton as “a hero” — not just for her talent, but for her kindness, strength, and authenticity.

“Anyone who knew her knew what a huge heart she had. She was loving, creative, and so full of light. I’m very deeply sad about her passing. But what a legacy she leaves behind.”

Keaton’s portrayal of Annie Hall redefined modern cinema, but her off-screen warmth left an even deeper mark on those lucky enough to know her. Berkley said she felt blessed to have witnessed firsthand how Keaton brought women together — both on screen and in life.

“Back then, it wasn’t common to see that kind of female support in Hollywood,” Berkley said. “But Diane made it real. She showed me what collaboration and kindness could look like in this industry.”

🌹 A Life and Legacy That Endure

Diane Keaton’s passing from bacterial pneumonia on October 11, 2025, left a void in the hearts of fans and colleagues alike. She is survived by her two adopted children, Dexter and Duke, and remembered for her brilliance, authenticity, and courage — qualities that inspired generations.

As Elizabeth Berkley beautifully put it:

“She was the kind of woman who made you want to be braver — and kinder — just by being around her.”

🕊 Rest in peace, Diane Keaton — your spirit, your artistry, and your heart will live on forever.
