HOLLYWOOD- We are in the last month of the year 2025, so we need to take a break from shopping and go to the movies. December 2025 is packed with anticipated releases like Avatar; Fire and Ash, The Housemaid, Zootopia 2 and Benoit Blanc’s new mystery, Wake Up Dead Man, plus streaming hits on Netflix & Hulu like Hamlet and Together, offering plenty to catch up on, from big blockbusters to acclaimed dramas. December 2025 is set to be a big month for diverse movie experiences, from big-budget blockbusters to indie darlings and international hits, catering to various tastes as the year concludes. As we enter the holiday season, Hollywood is offering a little bit of everything for a variety of audiences from thrillers to dramas, and even comedy.
Avatar: Fire and Ash, we see James Cameron take us back to Pandora for the highly anticipated third chapter of the Avatar saga.. this times plunging into brand-new environments and introducing the fierce “Ash People,” a new, morally complex Na’vi clan far less welcoming than the tribes we’ve met before. Oona Chaplin steps in as Varang, a formidable new Na’vi antagonist. Release date is scheduled for December 19, 2025. The film Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery is scheduled to be released on December 12, 2025. Benoit Blanc is back on the case in the next Knives Out adventure, with Daniel Craig reprising his role as the charismatic, puzzle-loving detective. Netflix is keeping story details tightly under wraps, but the film has been teased as Blanc’s most perilous challenge yet. So expect a fresh ensemble to stir the pot, including Josh O’Connor.
Major Blockbusters and Sequels such as The SpongeBob Movie: Search for Square Pants due out on December 19th. Zootopia 2, Captain America: Brave New World, Wicked: For Good, 28 Years Later, Kill Bill: the Whole Bloody Affair, which came out on December 5th. The Toxic Avenger. The Case for Miracles is due out on December 15, with Avatar: Fire and Ash on December 19th. On Christmas Day, the movie Song sung Blue will be released starring Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson, that should be enough to get you out of bed that day, even if you have to attend with your Christmas jammies. Anaconda will be also released on the 25th, starring Jack Black, Steve Zahn, and Paul Rudd. Also on Christmas Day is Ikkis, Planet Gliese and Tu Meridian Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meridian by director Sameer Vidwans.
If you are lucky enough to find a movie tavern, it’s a totally different experience. Last week I was in the Pennsylvania area, where I bumped into Priscilla Presley again on December 7, 2025 at SoulJoel’s in Pottstown. The venue is incredible and truly breathtaking. Having a wedding there would be a dream come true. It was like stepping into a storybook setting inside. She was on her last leg of her book tour, in Pottstown, Pa before heading out to Los Angeles . Priscilla is always a pleasure to speak with, always so calming. Love her!
Soon after, the show we headed out to Movie Tavern about 5 miles away, in Collegeville, PA. It’s a dine-in theater offering a full-service restaurant and bar experience inside the auditorium, with food and drinks delivered directly to your plush recliner seat, turning movie-watching into a premium, comfortable, all-in-one night out with American cuisine, cocktails, and big screen entertainment. It offers a wider selection than typical theaters, including draft beers, cocktails, breakfast, lunch and dinner options. Staff takes and delivers orders to your seat. It aims to provide a premium, affordable date night or family experience with added comfort and convenience. In short, it’s more of a restaurant and movie theater combined, unlike standard cinemas that focus solely on concessions and films.
