Past!

Thoughts about your past…

We all have past and at times our past is keeping us hostage. I subscribe to the thought that most people can’t let go of the past because they don’t appreciate their present. Reframing our relationship with our past requires us to stop thinking of how things should be and accept them for what they are. As Dalai Lama said, “Attachment is the origin, the root of suffering; hence it is the cause of suffering.”

“The past does not define us as people because the past is constantly changing. In one minute, the current minute becomes the past. We can change now and pave the way for our future. Some people have been through extremely hard things and can’t escape their past. Bottomline: “Your past mistakes are meant to guide you, not define you.” Unknown

Your shortcomings and disappointments are all in the past now. They have nothing to do with what you can accomplish from this point forward. Every day, you start with a clean slate. Every moment is an opportunity to begin the process of turning your dreams into reality.

“If you want to be happy, do not dwell in the past, do not worry about the future, focus on living fully in the present.” “Time doesn’t heal emotional pain, you need to learn how to let go.”

“If you want to fly on the sky, you need to leave the earth.”

“Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.” Albert Einstein

Take the lessons of your past with you on your journey and carry on in hope.

“Holding on is believing that there’s a past; letting go is knowing that there’s a future.” -Daphne Rose Kingma

The past is over. Trust that there is magic ahead for you.

“Some of us think holding on makes us strong, but sometimes it is letting go.” Herman Hesse

It takes courage to let go of your past, but it is the only way to find peace.

“Let go of the past, but keep the lessons it taught you.” Chiara Gizzi

And these concluding thoughts…

The only pieces of your past that you need to keep are the lessons you learnt along the way.

It doesn’t matter what has happened before. Yes, the past has brought you to where you are. Yet right now the path splits off in an infinite number of directions. And you have the choice of which one to take.

Learn from the past and then let it go. To wish that it had been different, is a waste of time and energy. To continue living with your past limitations, is a waste of your life’s enormous potential.

Your past does not define who you are or what you can accomplish. You do.
