Keep going!!

If you’re feeling sad, discouraged or just in survival mode, then I have some solid advice for you.

You see, when things feel really tough, our brain starts to focus on the negative.

Our hardships. Our stresses. Another tragic news report. The crime. Our corrupt politicians. The crazy inflation. The Loadshedding stage whatever. The impending grid collapse that has become part of almost every dinner table conversation. The list is endless and relentless.

There’s something called the “spotlight effect” and it’s real. When we start to focus on just the negative, we also start to magnify it. And then that thing starts to become the only thing we see.

And it starts to impact our energy.

You might feel tired, anxious, hopeless, exhausted or just despondent.

The solution?

Add one thing to your life that you love. Add one positive thing to every single day. Even if it’s just a moment of gratitude for something small.

When you add something positive, you start seeing that thing… and then slowly, you start to see more good things. And those good things start to wash away the negativity.

This morning I sat on my stoep here in Franschhoek and watched the universe put on the most glorious show. I thought about all the amazing things I get to do today. All the incredible opportunities. All the good things.

I felt the weight of the world disappear. Just in that moment. And it set me up to have a really good day.

Ja, just think of one small positive thing right now. And I promise you will start to see so many more.
