Something to do before Christmas is taking a drive to Old Westbury, New York.
Old Westbury Gardens worked with Lightswitch, a collective of internationally recognized designers to create the show. Shimmering Solstice was created out of the desire to adapt the land and gardens in a way that would celebrate the fall and winter holiday seasons.
“This is a celebration of our space,” says Maura McGoldrick-Brush, Director of Horticulture at
Old Westbury Gardens. “Instead of flowers, the gardens will be blooming with light. This is
truly an enchanting combination of the beauty of the gardens and the magic of the season.”
Presented by Catholic Health, Shimmering Solstice runs through January 9, 2022. The admission time starts at 5:30 pm and the last admission is at 9:30 pm. Tickets are $32.95/adults $17.95 children (3-17) during peak times and $29.95 adults, $16.95 children at off-peak times and can be purchased here. Old Westbury Gardens is located at 71 Old Westbury Road, Old Westbury, New York, between the Long Island Expressway (I-495) and Jericho Turnpike (New York Route 25), approximately 20 miles east of New York City.
