Ups and Downs!

Thoughts about life’s ups & downs…

I meet and hear people both family and friends talking about their experiences and what they’re going through. I am not any different, I rode the roller coaster of life’s ups and downs and able to survive. I am guided by that philosophy…”God will not give you more than you can handle.” But how did we get into that predicament? Look back…financially we get in debt by overspending, living beyond our means not necessarily trying to impress. The temptation to splash into those vacations spending what we saved unmindful of tomorrow I can go on and on. As I said earlier…we simply get carried away. Speaking for myself…”I learned my lesson well and still learning, but mind you, I will not fall into that trap again.” (Lol).

What about personal relationships breakups?

Love happens and breakups too. And it goes without saying, breakups are heart breaking. When all those feelings of love suddenly turns into something vile, it becomes painful to handle.

What’s there to be done after breakups? Accept that it happened for the best of reasons, keep your mind busy doing something productive and know that love happens again. The pain subsides like it always does. Turn the pain into motivation to bring a positive change in your life.

Accept What Has happened: Accept that the relationship is over and that it happened for the best reasons.

I can go on and on…

Paul tells us: “God is faithful, and he will not let you be tested beyond your strength but with your testing he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it” (1 Corinthians 10:13).

“Sometimes you have to let life turn you upside down, so you can learn how to live, right side up!”

No matter what kind of challenges or difficulties or painful situations you go through in your life, we all have something deep within us that we can reach down and find the inner strength to get through them.” – Alana Stewart

“Transformation is a process, and as life happens there are tons of ups and downs. It’s a journey of discovery – there are moments on mountaintops and moments in deep valleys of despair.” Rick Warren

“I am the master of my fate and I am the captain of my boat. While ups and downs are a part of everyone’s journey, how you face it makes you the person or artiste you are.” Jubin Nautiyal

“I think that life is difficult. People have challenges. Family members get sick, people get older, you don’t always get the job or the promotion that you want. You have conflicts in your life. And really, life is about your resilience and your ability to go through your life and all of the ups and downs with a positive attitude.” Jennifer Hyman

There’s nothing you can do today that will prevent all future problems in your life. There is much you can do today that will prepare you and position you to successfully deal with those future problems.

If you’re fantasizing that life will one day be perfect, or worrying that life will soon be awful, you’re wasting precious life and time right now. Instead, use your time today to grow stronger, to live richly, to connect deeply, to increase your skills, knowledge, and wisdom.

Get yourself strong enough, capable enough, to be realistic while also being optimistic. Yes, the difficulties will come and yes, you can live a great and fulfilling life as they do.

Some things about your future you can control and many other things, you can’t. What you always can do is live the moment you’re in with gratitude, integrity, discipline, and love.

Live today so that you can look forward to tomorrow, eager to meet its challenges and fulfill its best possibilities. Stay thankful for all you have, for all you’ve experienced, and mindful of the good you can do.

Life will unfold with its ups and its downs. You can choose to be your best for it all.
